“MATTER AS A PRETEXT”
From June 2nd to August 3rd Km5 will harbour works about Picasso, Dalí, Tapies, Miró, Andy Warhol and Arcángel Soul.
The first half of the twentieth century gives light industrial and technological changes that will change the world and defined as we know it actually, and art is not unware to its time.
Fauvism, cubism, expressionism, surrealism an futurism alternate role in the past century with other lesser-known but no less important streams: magical realism.
Besides pieces by Picasso, Dalí , Warhol and Miró , this year Epsilon Art and KM5 pretend to make a tribute to other of the iconic artists of the twentieth century who revolutionized the art from the combination of matter as nobody had ever done , standing out an iconic language to incress up the t test of time: Tapies.
We present two excellent engravings by Catalan artist and the edition in 3D technique made by Dalí and a Picasso cubist piece, curiously the inventor of cubism ( with Braque and Gris) not lavished too much in the creation of graphic works on this subject, which makes it very special.
On the other hand it shows Arcangel Soul in the island, Catalan artist and recognized for his national trajectory. Color, strength, expression, matter, light … in the words of the artist himself.
It will be presented two acrylic of an artist named to gain a foothold in the next generation of national artists , as well attest the demand of their presence for some institutions and international foundations: Bombay, London, New York or the Cervantes Institute in Hamburg, all of them between July 2015 and May 2016.
Now it’s the turn of Ibiza, the island of light. Km5 is the place where all these art works will be shown from June 2nd, the day will be presented through the traditional Vernissage, until August 3rd. The creations of “Matter as a pretext” as it is called the exhibition are for sale.
