Rock and Roll and Photography

See Iggy Pop reading the newspaper or Grace Jones using the lipstick is not common. However “Rock Collection” which was presented yesterday at the famous local San José Road thanks to the collaboration of Mondo Gallery reflects how are the lives of the great musicians of the rock when they get off the stage. “The most important of the exhibition is that photographers took pictures in spontaneous and informal moments, reflecting the difference between normal and artistic life of the stars,” said Diego Alonso, director of Mondo Gallery.

As music Km5 is very important, Alonso decided that the 9 works had a direct relationship with the place: “Since Mondo Gallery selected works from the collection” Mondo Rock and Roll ” that connects a lot with the spirit of the music and that back to the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, when came to light great musical icons that marked a time. “

The authors of the photographs, Mats Backer and Javier Porto and Alfred Wertheimer ,of which only can see a single piece of Elvis Presley, are artists that the gallery has been working since four years ago: “There are photographs that have a connection between rock and music culture in New York and Madrid” said says Diego referring to photographs of Javier Porto.

This art exhibition will be in Km5 until June 1st and is the prelude to a new project that Mondo Gallery and two more partners are launching in San Rafael. Under the name of “Bocao” (Back to Beginning) the project pretends to take back the hippy spirit of 70’s in this village of Ibiza through art and gourmet.
